2021 Dodge Durango

The 2021 Durango comes in six available trims (SXT, GT, R/T, Citadel, SRT 392, and SRT Hellcat). The SUV underwent exterior changes making it resemble the Charger sedan and Challenger muscle car with a sculpted hood, revised grille, and new rear spoiler.

The 2021 Durango comes standard with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that gets 293 horsepower with the single-exhaust option or 295 horsepower with dual-exhaust. This engine also attains 260 pound-feet of torque. Every R/T and some Citadel trims feature a 5.7-liter V-8 Hemi engine that puts out 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. The SRT392 trim has a 6.4-liter V-8 Hemi engine that gets 475 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. The most notable change for the 2021 model year is the addition of the SRT Hellcat and its impressive engine. Its supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine, originally found in the Challenger and Charger Hellcat models, is rated at 710 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque. These numbers make the Durango's Hellcat the most powerful SUV ever.

Behind these impressive engine options, the Durango achieves the highest towing capacity in its class. Its numbers are better than all compact trucks and many full-size pickup trucks. When properly equipped, expect the SUV to tow a maximum of 8,700 pounds thanks to the optional Tow N Go package for the R/T trim.

The Durango's base model seats five people across two rows of seats, but you can opt for a two-seat third row. All other trims come standard with three rows of seats. Another option is to replace the middle-row bench seat with captain's chairs, reducing the seating capacity to six. Adults sitting in the first two rows of seats enjoy plenty of leg- and headroom, while those in the front row can utilize the numerous power adjustments to the seats. To give you easy access to the third row, the second-row bench seat or captain's chairs can fold forward. The previous year's model came standard with a 7.0-inch touch-screen display and optional with an 8.4-inch touch-screen display, but Dodge made the 8.4-inch display standard and a 10.1-inch touch-screen display optional. It's paired with the Uconnect 5 infotainment system, along with four USB ports, satellite radio, Bluetooth, a six-speaker stereo, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. You can upgrade to receive navigation, wireless device charging, and extra USB ports.

The 2021 Durango comes standard with a rearview camera, but it adds several optional features such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Due to these impressive safety features, the Durango earned a perfect five-star side crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Also, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the SUV its highest rating in three crash tests.
